about.me
Life has many crossroads along the way. A significant one occurred in my life in September, 2000. I consciously chose to make some major changes. I wanted to live differently!
Up until that time I had been living – or dying as I now realize – on the standard Southern diet of fried, fried and more fried food. Born in Bamberg, South Carolina in 1960, I experienced everything that life in a small, rural town had to offer. During my youth, my entire existence revolved around having fun . . . on the athletic fields as a star athlete, on the river fishing with my grandfather, on the golf course, or in the woods hunting. Life was good! Clean small town fun evolved into big time partying with girls and alcohol in a large college town. Little did I know the price I would pay for such fun in later life. I married, started a family, succeeded in the family business and basically lived the “high life.” Of course, all good things must come to an end. Eventually my lifestyle caught up with me. At 40 years old, with serious alcohol and drug addictions and in very poor health, I had hit rock bottom. That is when my fantastic journey to improved health began! First stop was a stint in a wonderful rehab center, accompanied by extensive therapy. Next, I addressed an addiction to nicotine. Little did I know that this was only the beginning.
After being alcohol and drug free for three years, I experienced another health crisis. I weighed 265 pounds and couldn’t even enjoy 18 holes of golf. One day in April, 2003, after an awful round of golf where I experienced significant lower back pains, I decided to stop by a friend’s house. His chiropractor friend was visiting and offered assistance. After a light massage and adjustment I felt great. The next week when I tried to play golf I experienced the same discomfort. The chiropractic adjustment worked the week before so I sought out a local chiropractor. During my visit, he loaned me a book on holistic health. The book presented some very basic ideas. Its primary philosophy was to treat mind, body, and spirit! The basic concept to remove toxins and to provide proper nourishment has been key to my health improvement.
Four years later, 100 pounds lighter and unbelievably healthier, I still focus on transitioning from food addictions and my old ways of thinking. I’ve found fasting as a way to make drastic health improvements in a relatively short time. I’ve been fortunate enough to study holistic nutrition and health with some of the best –Dr. Gabriel Cousens, David Wolfe, Brenda Cobb, and Donna Gates.
Today, I experience a level of health I never envisioned possible. I suffered from prostate cancer, mercury poisoning, migraine and cluster headaches, depression, severe allergies, scoliosis, borderline diabetes, sleep apnea, and candida – just to name a few. Today I am able to enjoy some of the great things in life . . . . playing golf, mowing my lawn, eating mangoes. . . all things the medical community told me I’d never be able to do again. In fact, one physician that I saw for my allergies said I should pack my bags and move to Alaska!
It is important for me to share my personal history and journey as inspiration for those who want to improve their life through spiritual nutrition. If I can do it, be assured that you can too! With accurate information, loving support and a realistic plan of action, you can dramatically improve your health. You can enjoy higher levels of energy and vibrancy and rid your body of debilitating diseases by making different choices. Together we can achieve phenomenal success is restoring your health and spirit. There are NO LIMITS!
With Love and Gratitude,
